RANDOM INTERNATIONAL's Swarm Studies simulate patterns of group behaviour seen in nature, embodying them in light. Inspired by the striking murmurations of starlings in flight, the myriad individual lights act collectively to create the swarm. Swarm Study / VII is a site specific work for a Middle-Eastern transport hub. Living within one, monolithic cube, the swarm behaves autonomously, creating an ethereal and meditative presence within its busy location.
